Who I am. A lifelong resident of Salisbury. Husband of Stephanie, father of three grown children Bob, Julie, Erica and two year old Seth. Owner of Doug's Cycle Shop since 1978. I was a certified motorcycle safety instructor for 8 years, a licensed atv instructor for 20 years, a Taekwon Do instructor for 12 years. I am currently serving my 3rd term as Salisbury alderman, I am on the advisory board for Linn Technical School Powersports program. I have served as President of Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, Vice president of the Missouri Powersports Dealers Assoc. served on the St Joseph's Church parish council, I am a member of the Knights of Columbus, Missouri Farm Bureau and National Federation of Independent Business and have been active with our local chapter of Missouri Right to Life. For over 30 years I have continued my education from the University of Hard Knocks which as provided me with real life experiences.
My wife Steph taught music in Higbee for nine years, was principal of St Joseph's school for 2 years and has been teaching grades 1&2 at Fr McCartan in Marceline for the 10 years. She has now made a career change and is a case manager for Chariton County for those with disabilities through ICANN. Her enthusiasm for life and learning is infectious.
My little riding buddy Seth logged over 10,000 miles in his sidecar before the age of two. Now at eight he's up to 40,000 miles. He is my Goodwill ambassador and brings smiles to everyone he meets including Chief's Brian Waters, Bishop Gaydos and Sarah Palin. You will get a better idea of our values and how we live by reading Seth's Story. Since I am terrible at keeping up with technology I would recommend going to www.facebook.com and find Stephanie Farnen she posts daily updates.
